Are your strings older than you are?  Are you tired of clipping the little 'hairs' that keep appearing on those gut strings?  Having trouble tuning 'dead/false' strings?   All harp strings lose their vibrant tone as they age and are plucked.   It is recommended that a new set of strings be put on a harp annually for professional players and every two or three years for non-professionals.   Mr. Crookston offers total Harp Re-stringing services for individuals in the Northern Virginia, D.C. and Maryland areas.  I can do this service in your home or mine and I can help you in ordering the necessary strings for your pedal or lever harp.

Costs for Pedal Harps with 40-47 strings: 

• At your Home:  $160.00 plus the cost of strings - Re-stringing (approx 3 hours needed for a concert grand harp)
• or
• At my Home:  $120.00 plus the cost of strings.

 

Cost for Lever Harps:

• At your Home:  $40.00 travel fee plus $2.00 per string replaced, plus the cost of strings.
• or
• At My House:   $2.00 per string replaced, plus the cost of strings.
